Advanced Lab Course - Winter Term 2021/2022
General information:
- In order to successfully pass this module you have to complete six experiments (Lehramt: 5 Experiments, Materialwissenschaften: 4 Experiments). Some experiments have two parts and take two days, those count as two experiments. [ report.pdf ].
- A complete list of the available experiments can be found further down.
- The experiments will always be done in teams of two students. Each team will prepare one written experimental report, which will be rated by the supervisor. Before doing the experiment, the students have to pass an oral exam in order to check whether they are well prepared. The exam will be also rated. There will be an independent oral examination for each part of the 2-day experiments!
- In case the students are not sufficiently prepared, the supervisor can cancel the practical part of the experiment.
- All experiments start at 8:30 am in the corresponding labs, unless stated otherwise in the "Remarks" column (see below). The room number can be found in the attached list.
- The written reports have to be handed in six weeks after the experiment.
- On Friday, 15.10, an introduction to the masterlab will be given from 12:00 to 14:00 in ENC D-308 . Attendance is mandatory!
- On Friday, 22.10, a radiation and a laser safety lecture will be given from 12:15 to 14:00 in ENC D-308. Attendance is mandatory! Links to presentations: Lecture on radiation safety , Lecture on laser safety
- On Friday, 29.10, an introductory statistics lecture (part I) will be given from 12:15 to 14:00 in ENC D-308. Attendance is recommended! Presentation: Intro. to statistics
- On Friday, 5.11, an introductory statistics lecture (part II, including QtiPlot tutorial) will be given from 12:15 to 14:00 in ENC D-308. Attendance is recommended! Material: QtiPlot tutorial, linear.txt, linear_ey.txt, doublepeak.txt, exp.txt, gaussian.txt, gausspluslinear.txt
- On Friday, 12.11, a ROOT tutorial will be given from 12:15 to 14:00 in ENC D-308. Attendance is recommended!
